Japthikarani Parish
Japthikarani originally belonged to the Parish of Vandavasi and later became the substation of Teresapuram Parish. Some 65 families live in this place and hence as per their request the late Bishop S. David Marianayagam, sdn. Built for them a Chapel land a priest began to reside in this village. It is Fr. S. T. Ignatius who managed the construction of the Church, hroadened the streets. And made everything possible to create Japthikarani into separate Parish, consequently in the year 1966, Fr. Ganapragasam was installed as a first Parish Priest of Japthikarani. He was followed by Fr. A. Thomas who opened a new school here. After him For, Urban Thekeil ran this Parish for a short while and now Fr. Arulsamy, hoping in God has taken charge of this small Parish and is actively toiling for the good of souls.
