Kariyandal Parish
St Antony’s Parish, Kariandal, was canonically erected into a new Parish on July 11, 1972 and its first Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Kuruvilla, earlier. Kariandal formed part and parcel of C. Nammiandal Parish some ten miles away the new Parish Priest had to fad a now presbytery and a Church, With God’s help and friends’ generosity he put up a new Rectory which was blessed by Bishop Antony Muthu on 25th March 1976. To render medical Help to Kariandal and the neighbouring villages, Teresian Carmelite Sisters were brought to Kariandal and they commenced caring for the sick from 5th June 1971. With medical care the sisters also visit the Christian families and epagoge in evangelization.
